Normalerweise lese ich mir keine der CGS-Artikel durch und stöbere höchstens mal in den Neuigkeiten. Aber dieser hier hat mich wirklich sehr stutzig gemacht.

Hier ein Auszug:
Men have a tendency to bond through extracurricular activities. They might go to Happy Hour, might discuss a weekend soccer game, or take in a round of golf. They compare cars or their latest electronic gizmos. All of these social interactions build a knowledge that is outside of the workplace scenario. A supervisor becomes familiar with the employee on multiple levels and develops a dialogue that encompasses knowledge and potential trust, laying the groundwork for promotion based on knowledge of the employee. Women, by comparison, tend to remain riveted to their jobs then go home to tend to issues there. Perhaps they feel they have to in order to compete, but in the long run it could be to their detriment. They are often the ones sacrificing lunch, breaks, and evenings. They often take on more than their own responsibilities. That isn’t a pervasive rule of thumb, but frequently the women will finish their own tasks then go off to confirm the pipeline doesn’t contain roadblocks that might prohibit them from achieving the next day’s goal. If there is any problem that might reflect on them, they will often stay to help solve it, worried that the eyes will be on them if they don’t. Their multitasking abilities are usually stronger, so they cast a wider net.
